SEaward2012STOREROTICA Magazine, the leading national trade publication for the owners and operators of adult retail stores and lingerie boutiques, held its yearly awards bash on July 15th at the ANME Founders Show in Burbank, California.  Honoring the best from all sectors of the adult novelty industry, the 6th Annual STOREROTICA Awards was the largest in the magazine’s history.  Nearly 500 guests from the ANME Founders Show packed the lavish reception area where they enjoyed dinner and cocktails, while show host Phil Varone (musician, comedian and adult performer) entertained them all during the presentation of the 13 STOREROTICA Awards.“Every year, the STOREROTICA Awards have grown in both recognition and prestige,” says Kristofer Kay, Editor of STOREROTICA Magazine.  “Being able to hold our event at the ANME Founders Show once again ensured that the industry’s luminaries would commiserate to honor one another in a relaxed and casual atmosphere, while still recognizing their achievements over the past year. We thank everyone who attended and congratulate the winners and nominees.”Chosen online by the readership at and editorial staff of STOREROTICA, the 6th Annual STOREROTICA Awards honored the best in both the brick-and-mortar storefront, distributing and manufacturing levels.  This year, 11 categories were presented, including a brand new category, “Boutique Brand of the Year” (presented to Tantus), as well as such mainstays as “Novelty Company of the Year’ (Pipedream Products), “Hot Product of the Year” (Intensity by Jopen) and “Retailer of the Year,” independent and chain (The Pleasure Chest and Hustler Hollywood, respectively.)  In addition, two members of the adult retail community were inducted into the STOREROTICA Hall of Fame: Sara Lee Goff (of the retail chains Sara’s Secret and Condoms to Go) and Nick Orlandino (CEO of Pipedream Products.)“Dare I say the STOREROTICA Awards could ever become emotional; however, recognizing Ms. Goff’s legacy as a retail in Texas cannot be understated,” says Kay. “I think some people got choked up. Her standing ovation was the highlight of the show.  Likewise, Mr. Orlandino’s lifelong contribution to this industry can be felt by virtually every storeowner, both in the U.S. and abroad. We were delighted to honor them both this year.”STOREROTICA will be presenting their awards for the soft goods portion of the industry at the International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas on Monday, September 10th.  Voting for those awards will be held online only at STOREROTICA Award Winners: NOVELTY MANUFACTURER OF THE YEAR Pipedream ProductsDISTRIBUTOR OF THE YEAR EldoradoHOT PRODUCT OF THE YEAR Intensity by JopenFETISH COMPANY OF THE YEAR SportsheetsBOUTIQUE BRAND OF THE YEAR TantusLUBE COMPANY OF THE YEAR Wet Personal LubricantsMARKETING CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR Doc Johnson’s “School of Doc”SEXUAL ENHANCEMENT COMPANY OF THE YEAR The Screaming ORETAILER OF THE YEAR/CHAIN Hustler HollywoodRETAILER OF THE YEAR/INDEPENDENT Pleasure Chest in New York City/L.A./ChicagoSPECIAL FOCUS AWARD: EUROPEAN COMPANIES Fun FactorySTOREROTICA HALL OF FAME: RETAILER Sara Lee Goff (Sara’s Secret/Condoms To Go)STOREROTICA HALL OF FAME: VENDOR Nick Orlandino (Pipedream Products)About Wet: Founded by Michael Trigg in1989, Trigg Laboratories, Inc. manufactures premium sexual wellness and consumer healthcare products at its 52,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in Valencia, CA.  As the parent company of Wet® International, Inc., an international leader in personal lubricants, aromatherapy massage oils and intimacy products, Trigg Laboratories develops, formulates and packages all of Wet’s 80+ products onsite.  Tested to comply with stringent FDA Medical Device regulations, all formulas are developed to ensure exceptional purity, consistency and comfort levels.  Currently available in 62 countries, Wet® is sold by adult specialty boutiques as well as food, drug, mass merchandise retail, including most major U.S. drugstore chains.Article Credits: Kristofer A.
